Emptiness

Often when I sit alone

I am grateful for the silence

For it’s far better than

the clutter and pretense.

I can hear my thoughts

My hopes and dreams

They are not lost

in parties with themes.

This emptiness inspires me

to write, dance and snore

and with every step

to make my life my own.
